Puppy Placement Procedure
Our puppy placement philosophy: Every puppy has it's own personality and individual abilities and/or attributes. Some will make fine family companions while others are geared to be active conformation, hunting or competition dogs. For these reasons, we carefully evaluate all the puppies and match up what we think will be the best fit based on what the owner is looking to do with the dog. This makes for a better fit with owner & puppy and leads to a happy home for everyone. Litter pick positions will assure that a puppy will be available to you. All client preferences are given serious consideration before final selections are determined. If you read all of this and would still like to “choose” your own puppy, please call me to discuss this option but it must be in your deposit contract. (920)324-8858. It's very important that the right puppy be matched up with the right family. This is, we hope, a 12-14 year commitment for pup and new family, it is critical that we do our best to assure a good start! As the breeders and "first family" of the pups, we carefully observe and monitor the pups' behavior within their litter and with their mothers. We test our puppies’ personalities using the Avidog Temperment Test Structure. They test the pups on many different levels as well as test the pups core response to many things. Pups are introduced to birds, wings, distant shot and water. Puppies leave for their new homes at 8 weeks of age and will have had their first shot and been wormed. They are active and well socialized by the time they leave us. We ask you what you are looking for in a pup -- the more you share about your lifestyle and wants, the better we can do to make the right match. Our pups are adopted into their new families according to what you tell us you want them for and what your expectations are. All Neverest Labradors pet puppies are sold with an AKC Limited Registration. This is just one way that the AKC and good breeders can fight against overpopulation and irresponsible breeding. Once you've completed your homework on the Labrador Retriever and decided that it's the right breed for you and that you desire one from Neverest Labradors, reservations are advised as litters are generally spoken for well in advance. You may reserve a pup from a specific litter by sending a non-refundable deposit. Note: Neverest Labradors does reserve the right to refuse the placement of a puppy into any home that they feel, for any reason, is not a good fit for that puppy. In the case that a puppy placement is refused, any deposit would be refunded at the time this decision was made. Having had years of experience with Labrador Retrievers, we feel very confident in our selection process. An experienced and knowledgeable breeder should be able to go over a litter of puppies at 7-8 weeks of age and easily see the differences among the puppies and pick them out accordingly. We use colored collars to help us in the sorting process. When searching for a breeder to buy from, always ask if the litter parents have had hips and elbows certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and eyes certified by Purdue Universities, Canine Eye Research Foundation (CERF). Ask about the parents and the purpose of the breeding. We also reserve the right on any breeding that hasn’t yet taken place to change stud dogs if necessary. We will make every effort to make contact with you to discuss this change before hand but reserve the right to if necessary to change the stud. You agree to trust our judgement. Deposits will not be refundable but could be transferred to a new litter if you were not okay with the new stud dog. We also reserve the right to keep first pick of each color and sex for the future of our breeding program. ~ |

COMPANION PUPPY Purchase Agreement/Terms *THIS IS A LEGAL, BINDING CONTRACT Mike and/or Desirae Pausma NEVEREST LABRADOR RETRIEVERS N10994 Buckhorn Rd. Fox Lake, WI 53933 920-324-8858 neverestlabs@yahoo.com www.neverestlabs.com **Non-Breeding Agreement / Guarantee** Although no breeder can truly “guarantee” that a dog will be free from hereditary disorders, we DO guarantee that we have researched pedigrees and health clearances to the best of our abilities, and we can guarantee that we breed only healthy and sound dogs. Neverest Labs, uses only sound breeding stock to lessen the occurrence of defects considered to be hereditary. While we cannot "guarantee" that your dog will be free of genetic defects, we do guarantee that both parents were reported to be free of hip and elbow dysplasia and hereditary eye diseases at the time of the breeding. Copies of those reports will be available. Here are some hints to help you understand and avoid some of these problems. Dysplasia: both hip and elbow dysplasia can be influenced by hereditary factors. Note that nutritional and environmental factors also play a role in joint health. Poor nutrition and excess weight can contribute to these disorders, as can injury. Therefore, the new owner assumes part of the responsibility for the orthopedic health of their dog. As a condition of sale and guarantee, you agree to feed a good quality dog food / canine diet, and you agree to keep the pup in good physical condition by allowing him or her to exercise at will. You further agree to monitor the pup/growing dog’s weight to ensure that s/he does not become overweight. We require that you only feed your puppy the brands of dog food listed puppy fact sheet (to be emailed to you 2 week before you pick up your puppy). Monitor your puppy to make sure it receives proper exercise but does not get injured. Over or under exercising your puppy can negatively impact its health. Do not allow jumping on and off of furniture or stairs. Also, keep the puppy off of slippery or damp flooring. Your puppy will benefit from regular walks and from play sessions in your yard. Avoid strenuous exercise (including long walks) and do not jog your dog until he is at least 18 months old. Although “agility” is a fun sport to be involved with and offers an opportunity for team work with your dog, it is well documented that jumping can do major damage to growing joints, therefore you should not participate in “jumping” activities with your dog until s/he has reached at least 18 months old (this includes jumping into and out of vehicles). Do not allow your puppy to roughhouse with larger or older dogs to avoid injury. Eye Problems can be hereditary, congenital or an acquired condition resulting from a virus or accident. Some eye abnormalities have little or no effect on the dog's vision while others can cause blindness. Incorrect bites include undershot, overshot or wry mouthed malocclusions. Most incorrect bites cause little or no problem for the dog. Do not play "tug of war" with your puppy as there is a possibility of damaging their teeth or jaw alignment. Neverest Labrador Retrievers are registered with the American Kennel Club. Our companion puppies are sold with AKC limited registration (non-breeding). If you register your puppy with AKC, the puppies name MUST start with NEVEREST. If this is not done the health guarantee will be void. When the puppies go to their new homes their vaccinations and worming schedules are up to date and they have been microchipped for identification. We suggest that a puppy buyer take the new puppy to their own veterinarian within 7 days to be examined. If, FOR ANY REASON, the veterinarian is not happy with the puppy, we will replace the puppy upon the return of the puppy. If your puppy / dog is diagnosed with debilitating AND hereditary, hip dysplasia before the age of 26 months, and proof (proof is defined as the official OFA report. We can also request a second opinion at the buyers expense, as well as ALL medical records (this will include everything from vaccination to altering, ect), for review by our veterinarians) is received (within 1 week of original diagnosis) as well as a spay or neuter certificate (you do not need to provide the spay/neuter proof at the time of diagnosis, as it maybe healthier for your pet to hold off on this surgery, you just need to have pet fixed before you get a replacement puppy. You have the option of a replacement puppy. If any surgery is done before notifying us and allowing us the option of a 2nd opinion, guarantee is void and no compensation will be given. If the dog is spayed before 12 months of age or neutered before 16 months of age, guarantee is void. Shipping / transport costs will not be reimbursed. Debilitating hip dysplasia, for our purposes, shall be defined as moderate to severe hip dysplasia). Because there are so many facets to elbow dysplasia we do NOT guarantee against elbow issues although all of our breeding dogs are cleared of this. If at any time in the puppies life you are unable to keep him or her, you agree to return the dog to us. If we both agree we can help you find a new home for the dog but the new family will have to agree to the same contract terms that you purchased the pup on and sign a new contract with us. You are under no circumstances allowed to surrender the dog to anyone else or sell them to anyone. We always want to know where our puppies / dogs are throughout their lifetimes. By signing below you are acknowledging that you have read this document in it’s entirety and agree to the terms of this contract, including agreeing to spay or neuter the pup prior to him or her being bred / producing puppies and this must be done by the age of 2 years (with proof sent to seller unless agreed upon in writing beforehand) or seller will reclaim dog with no refund. If any legal actions between purchaser and breeder are needed, the court sessions will be held in Wisconsin at a time and place that are convenient to the breeder. If any payments made on this puppy are refunded or credited back at any point in time, seller may reclaim the dog and contract is null and void. The purchaser agrees to bring the dog with (or have it shipped by airline if necessary). Breeder will not under any circumstances be responsible for purchaser’s costs in getting them and the dog to these sessions. Purchaser agrees that any and all costs regardless of outcome (court costs, transportation costs, work lost, costs to get dog back into seller’s possession ect) will be their responsibility.
